Domlingで、繊細な感性とクラフツマンシップをあわせ持つジュエリーデザイナーです。ジュエリーづくりの基礎を故郷で学んだ彼女は、その後プフォルツハイムの応用美術デザイン学校に進学。オブジェとジュエリーの造形を体系的に習得したのち、2000年に自身のブランドを設立しました。
彼女の創作は早くからアートとデザインの狭間で高い評価を受け、2002年からは拠点をパリへと移しています。以来、フランスの美意識とドイツの構築的なものづくりを融合させた独自のジュエリーを制作し続けています。
Behind these exceptional pieces is Petra Domling, a jewelry designer born in Germany, whose sensitivity and craftsmanship define her work. After studying the basics of jewelry-making in her hometown, she pursued formal training in object and jewelry design at the University of Applied Arts in Pforzheim. In 2000, she founded her own brand.
Her creations received acclaim early on in the space between art and design, and in 2002 she relocated to Paris. Since then, she has continued to craft distinctive jewelry by merging French aesthetic sensibilities with German structural discipline.

一本の線から始まる制作は、きわめて繊細なプロセスです。薄い銀や金の帯がモチーフをなぞるように描かれ、ひとつひとつのアーチが折り重なりながら形をなしていきます。同じ手順でも、完成するフォルムはすべて異なり、経験と偶然、緊張と自由が響き合う中で唯一無二の作品が誕生します。
そして、仕上げのプロセスはまさに"粉雪のようなひとふり"。作品はその繊細な仕上げによって調和と優美さをまといます。また、彼女にとって、ジュエリーのパッケージもまた作品の一部であり、最後の仕上げと同じくらい重要な要素です。それは身につける人に「大切な何かを贈る」体験をもたらす、静かな演出でもあります。
According to Petra, the starting point for each creation lies in “a single flower in the garden,” in “fabric patterns,” in “memories,” and in “the everyday scenery.” These inspirations take shape in embossed patterns etched into metal, transformed into movement and form.
Each piece begins with a line — the process is incredibly delicate. Thin bands of silver or gold trace the motif, with individual arches layering to create the final form. Although the technique may be repeated, the resulting shapes are never the same. Within a harmony of experience and serendipity, tension and freedom, a one-of-a-kind work is born.
The finishing process, too, resembles a gentle dusting of powdered snow. Through this delicate final touch, the piece attains harmony and grace. For Petra, the packaging is also an integral part of the work — a final flourish of equal importance, offering the wearer a quiet gesture of “giving something precious.”
